Hellmuth+Bicknese has entered
a Memorandum of Understanding with the U.S. EPA
as part of EPA's Environmentally Responsible Redevelopment
and Reuse (ER3) Initiative. The program builds
on EPA's efforts to use redevelopment and revitalization
of contaminated sites as an effective tool to
spur cleanups that otherwise may not occur. The
ER3 initiative serves to develop partnerships
with organizations that have expertise in sustainable
development and sustainable facilities.
By way of this partnership, Hellmuth+Bicknese's
expertise in educational initiatives, green design
guidelines, sustainable design presentations,
green masterplanning, and facilitating sustainable
design charrettes will be paired with potential
project partners as they develop. This is in addition
to and in support of our expertise as full service
architects. The sustainable redevelopment of Brownfields
has been a particular focus of the firm along
with advising on and preparing LEED™
(Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)
documentation for both New Construction (LEED™
NC) and for existing buildings (LEED™
EB). Hellmuth+Bicknese is poised to provide assistance
as sustainable design consultants or as prime
architects.
