services included master planning, programming and
cost projections for the Missouri Heritage Conservation
Campus and the design of the new 10,000-sq.ft. Missouri
Forest Heritage Museum. The museum is designed to
hold a collection of forestry artifacts chronicling
the use and abuse of the Ozark forest from the pioneer
days to the present. The project features a variety
of sustainable design features including natural
ventilation, evaporative cooling, sawdust gasification
(for a heating source using locally available waste
wood by-products), commercially rated compost toilets,
grey water processing, local and sustainable building
materials, daylighting, rainwater harvesting and
photovoltaic roll-out mats. The building is registered
for the Gold level of the Leadership in Energy &
Environmental Design (LEED™) 2.0 Green Building
rating system. |
