> GreenSpun Media receives LEED-CI Silver...

GreenSpun Media, a 60,000 sf tenant space in Las Vegas, received LEED-CI Silver. It is the FIRST building in Nevada certified to LEED for Commercial Interiors Silver level (and the first CI in Nevada certified to any level).

> ANC CCVI receives LEED C&S Gold certification...

American Nevada Company's Corporate Center VI just received LEED C&S Gold certification, the first LEED Core & Shell building certified at the Gold level in Nevada. This the first of four projects Hellmuth + Bicknese is working on to get LEED certification in the Las Vegas area working with Korte Construction and ANC.

> Chaddock Cottage...
6 - 2009

Bids are due Thursday, June 25 for the Chaddock Treatment Cottage and construction is likely to start in mid-July. The cottage will house 9 youth and clinical services for the residents. Chaddock will be seeking LEED Silver or Gold certification.

Chaddock serves children with severe emotional and other behavioral problems and also provides foster care services and other services for youth. The 30 acre campus contains several cottages and a school among other support facilities.

Spoon River College has opend two new 6,000 sq. ft. classroom buildings designed by Hellmuth + Bicknese Architects at SRC's Havana and Rushville campuses.

The renovation of 15,000 sq. ft. and a new facade for the entire front of a former 80,000 sq. ft. "big box" furniture store is well underway for Spoon River College's Macomb Campus. The work during this phase will provide several classrooms and a training/conference center.

We are glad to have Stacy Behlmann back for the summer again. She'll be assisting in design, production, LEED documentation and perhaps most importantly...organizing our office! Stacy is ready to begin her fifth year in the architecture program at Kansas University and will be studying in Europe this fall.

> Chaddock Campus Masterplan...
5 - 2009

Along with the first cottage design, H+B is working on a comprehensive sustainable masterplan for the Chaddock campus that integrates LEED for Multiple Buildings and conservation stormwater management into the planning process. As a result, Chaddock will be able to construct future proposals to a pre-determined and approved set of LEED credits along with any extra credits the project may garner.

> Living Learning Center News...

The Living Learning Center was recently featured in an article from Student Life, an independent student newspaper for Washington University - St. Louis. The article discusses the challenges of metting the Living Building Challenge, a certification through the Cascadia Green Building Council. the LLC will boast net-zero energy and net-zero water through the uses of photovoltaic panels and rainwater harvesting.

The Bick i-Building will be awarded it's LEED Gold plaque at October'sUSGBC-Stl Monthly Program. The ceremony is on October 15th at 6pm at the William A. Kerr Foundation.

H+B recently visited San Salvador to provide sustainable design consulting on a twelve story office building. The Torre Aristos building will incorporate many green technologies such as rooftop gardens, daylighting and waste water treatment. It is slated to be the first LEED certified building Central America.

> EcoUrban Homes receives Platinum status...

EcoUrban Homes received LEED for Homes Platinum certification for their modular house at 3140 Pennsylvania. It is the tenth platinum residence in the country, and the first in missouri. H+B provided sustainable design consulting for material selection.

2 - 2008

H+B has been selected to do a feasibility study for the Metropolitan Sewer District Headquarters at Jefferson and Market for a Green Roof Retrofit. On the team is SWT who will be looking at options for selecting the plant palette and designing the plant layout. Lee Cooper of ASDG will be evaluating the structure for suitability for an extensive green roof system. This is a very high profile and exciting application of Conservation Stormwater Management BMPs that may serve as an important case study for the city and region.
